The Kenai Fine Arts Center will sponsor a second series of free digital photography workshops open to the public. No pre-registration is required. Just show up.
These workshops will be presented by Joe Kashi on three consecutive Saturday afternoons in February.
All workshops will be at the Kenai Fine Arts Center, 816 Cook Street in Kenai, down the street from the Kenai Visitor Center toward the river bluff, near the American Legion Post and across from the Peninsula Oilers building.
Workshops will be held on Feb. 12, 19 and 26 from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Coffee and a snack will be provided.
Participants are urged to bring some of their own photos on a virus-scanned flash drive to each of the sessions so that the entire group can view those photos and discuss them.

Feb. 12 Configuring and setting up your camera - which functions should you use and when? We'll also consider Adobe Lightroom as a complement or replacement to Photoshop under certain circumstances.
Feb. 19 Exposing images - what are the best camera modes and settings for different circumstances? We'll also discuss applying the Ansel Adams Zone System to digital photography and how to make good exhibition prints.
Feb. 26 Developing your "eye" What sort of photographs work as documentary or fine art photos? How can you expand your ability to see and make photographs that may be interesting to others? How do you choose your subject and point of view?
The Central Peninsula Writers Group is calling for submissions for its 14th annual Writers Presentation in March at Kenai Visitors Center in Kenai. Readers are eligible for an honorarium of up to $100. Adult and high school-aged writers from the central Kenai Peninsula are eligible to enter. Entries are due Feb. 12, accompanied by an entry form and three copies of the work.
