ANCHORAGE (AP) -- A pastor in the Salvation Army has been charged with sexual abuse of a minor.

Capt. C. Troy Trickel, 44, was charged Thursday with one count of sexual abuse of a minor.

Salvation Army officials said Trickel has been in charge of the Kenai office for almost five years. Before that, he worked with the Salvation Army in Kake in Southeast Alaska.

Prosecutors say the charge involves a youth in one of the Salvation Army programs overseen by Trickel. He has been suspended pending the outcome of the case.
