Battle of the Books assemblies were conducted last week, and at the conclusion of each assembly, the school's battle teams were announced. Representing grades three and four, coached by Mrs. Worsfold, are Phoebe Napolitano, Stefany Malatesta and Elizabeth Schoessler. The alternates are Maddy Ransom and Kailee Skjold. Representing grades five and six, coached by Mrs. Knobf, are Kayla West, Joseph Malatesta and Sasha Davis. The alternates are David Laurie and Erik Skjold. All those students in grades three through six who participated in the practices are congratulated for their efforts.

The school thanks ConocoPhillips for its support of the Alaska Junior Theatre presentation at the Soldotna High School auditorium Monday. This annual opportunity to experience the performing arts was enjoyed and appreciated by all who attended.

Nurse Betty has been visiting classes to talk with students about the importance of proper dental care. Because this month is designated as "National Dental Health Month," students have been learning to brush at least twice a day, eat healthy, use toothpaste with fluoride and use protective gear when participating in various activities.

Parent-teacher conferences will be Feb. 13 and 16. Parents are asked to confirm their conference appointments as soon as possible.
