Central Peninsula Connections students will take the Benchmark, Terra Nova and High School Graduation Qualifying exams at the Soldotna Bible Chapel, on the corner of Kobuk and Marydale in Soldotna. Students must be at the testing site no later than 8:45 a.m. for the sessions. Tests will include Alaska Benchmarks for students in grades six and eight; the Terra Nova for students in grades four, five, seven and nine; and the HSQGE for all 10th-graders and those 11th- and 12th-graders who have not passed all three sections. Writing tests will be Feb. 17, math tests will be Feb. 18 and reading tests will be Feb. 19. Grade three Benchmarks will continue Feb. 20. Test preparation materials and study guides are available in the Connections office.

First-semester reports should be turned in. Anyone with questions should contact an adviser.

The Connections Spelling Bee will be at 3:30 p.m. Feb. 24. The bee is open to any home-school student in grades three through eight. Participants are asked to register with Connections in advance.

The Alaska SeaLife Center in Seward will sponsor a home-school day titled, "Sea Searchers" from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Feb. 28 or March 3. It is open to all grades, with special activities for those in seventh through 12th grade. Classes are limited to 15 students and include activities such as a stellar sea lion research debate. February, March and Spring Special book clubs are available in the Connections office. Orders are due to Tonya by Feb. 10.
