Cook Inlet Academy

The preschool classes warmed up their spirits this past week by having a Cabin Fever Party. The students had a lot of fun playing games, watching a movie and eating popcorn. Ms. Becky also surprised them by providing pop.

Various speakers are visiting CIA each morning this week in honor of Missions Week. Parents are invited to participate.

The varsity boys' basketball team will travel to Nikolaevsk on Thursday. The junior varsity basketball teams have a home game against Homer Christian School at 1 p.m. Saturday.

The junior high-high school winter banquet is Saturday at 6:43 p.m. at Ruben's International. Tickets for the "Something Different" banquet must be purchased by Friday.

Parent-teacher conferences are Feb. 12 and 13.

There will be no school Feb. 13 and 16 due to teacher in-service.

Students of the Week are Emily Pugmire and Hannah Seldon, for being great friends; Kody Knowles, for improvement in writing; Haley Miller, for always doing her best; Meghan Powers, for extra effort in reading; Gretta Kennedy, for great peer tutoring; Nicole Tieaskie and Chamaine Yarnes, for growth in relationships; Tiana McGahan, for excellent effort in practicing for the speech meet; Dalton Johnson, for excellent attitude and improved behavior; and Amie Smithwick, Ivy O'Guinn and Sadie Arneson, for doing their best in clarinet performance.
