CES seeking volunteers
Central Emergency Services is seeking applicants for its volunteer fire and EMS program.
Community members living in the Sterling, Soldotna, Kalifornsky Beach Road, Funny River and Kasilof areas interested in serving their community and receiving benefits in return are asked to stop by the Soldotna station on Binkley Avenue to pick up an application. SAD to be discussed
The Center for Mediation and Community Dialogue will hold its First Friday Dialogue meeting at 7:30 p.m. today at the Kenai Peninsula College commons. The topic will be Seasonal Affective Disorder. A potluck dinner will precede the meeting at 6:30 p.m. The public is invited to attend.
The purpose of the First Friday Dialogues is to bring people in the community together in a safe forum for listening, speaking and learning. For more information, call Chris Gehrett at 262-0367.
Radio testing slated

Special Olympics set meeting
Special Olympics-Alaska will meet from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Kenai River Center. The topics will be registering for the summer sports season, upcoming events and opportunities and meeting the central Kenai Peninsula's acting director. BLM to hold public meetings
The Bureau of Land Management Anchorage field office will hold a public meeting for the Bay area Resource Management Plan and Environmental Impact Statement from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Kenai River Center in Soldotna and from 2 to 5 p.m. Wednesday at the Alaska Islands and Ocean Visitor Center at Mile 95 of the Sterling Highway.
