Ninilchik girls edge Dillingham in OT

The Ninilchik School high school basketball teams split a pair of games with visiting Dillingham Thursday.

The Ninilchik girls survived a late push by Dillingham to take a 50-44 overtime victory. Dillingham trailed by six entering the fourth quarter but was able to make up the deficit in the final period of regulation.

Ninilchik outscored Dillingham 8-2 in the extra period, though, to secure the win.

Jen Erickson paced Ninilchik with 17 points while Kendra Moerlein scored 13 and Emily Wood netted 10.

Britni Carty led Dillingham with 14 points.

The Ninilchik boys trailed by three points, 19-16, at the half, but Dillingham was able to pull away in the second half for a 54-37 win.

DanDan Savo scored 15 and Bruce Womack netted 14 for Dillingham.

Connor Cooper led Ninilchik with 10 while Javin Halpin and Jesse Leman each scored nine.
