Dillingham girls nip Ninilchik in double overtime

Dillingham, a Class 3A school, saddled Ninilchik, the top-ranked school in Class 2A, with a 27-26 double overtime loss Friday in nonconference action in Ninilchik.

The game featured intense defense on both sides. Neither team had a squad in double figures. Krista Leman nailed a 3-pointer to put the game into overtime, but Ninilchik was outscored 1-0 in the second overtime period.

Homer girls 52, Valdez 43

The Mariners, a Class 4A school, knocked off the third-ranked team in Class 3A Friday in nonconference action at Homer.

Kailee Pollack had 15 points for the Mariners, while Allison Horazdovsky and Bailey Lowney each had 11 points and Reba Temple added 10 points.

Homer boys 52, Valdez 44

The Class 4A Mariners defeated Valdez, ranked fourth in Class 3A, Friday in nonconference action at Homer.

Luke Gilbert poured in a game-high 23 points for the Mariners,while Casey Siekaniec added 12 points.

Seward girls 61, Houston 27

The Seahawks received 16 points apiece from Lara Loomis and Kursten Stallings in dismantling the Hawks in Southcentral Conference action Friday at Seward.

Seward boys 63, Houston 49

Coty Beck had 21 points and Ryan Dieckgraeff added 13 as the Seahawks picked up a Southcentral Conference victory over the Hawks Friday in Seward.

Seward girls 47, ACS 37

Teal Hetrick scored 17 points as the host Seahawks picked up a Southcentral Conference victory over the Lions Saturday.

ACS boys 52, Seward 49

Richard McNutt, Chad Dyson and Chet Dyson each had 14 points to lead Anchorage Christian Schools to a 52-49 Southcentral Conference victory Saturday over host Seward. Ryan Dieckgraeff had 14 points for Seward, while Caleb Adelmann added 11.
