Soccer registration deadline today

The Boys and Girls Club in Kenai is taking registration for its upcoming indoor soccer league for children ages 4 through those in fifth grade. Register in person at the Kenai Boys and Girls Club between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. Monday through Friday or by fax or mail. The registration form is available online at www.positiveplaceforkids.com. All registrations must be received today. The indoor soccer season runs from March 24 to May 10. The cost is $50. For more information, call the Boys and Girls Club at 283-2682.

KPC to host Irish trio concert

The Kenai Peninsula College Multicultural Consortium and KPC Showcase will present the traditional Irish folk trio of Johnny Connolly, Tom Creegan and Aidan Brennan at 7 p.m. today in the KPC commons. The concert is free.

Chinese New Year celebration planned

SBDC to host bookkeeping seminar

The Small Business Development Center will hold a seminar entitled "Low Tech Bookkeeping," Monday from 6 until 9 p.m. at the center, located in suite 16 of the Red Diamond Center on Kalifornsky Beach Road. Cost is $15. For more information, call 262-7497.

Photographers guild to meet

Iditarod fundraiser planned

Paul and Evy Gebhardt will host an Iditarod fundraiser 7 p.m. Feb. 15 at the Soldotna Sports Center. The event will include a memorabilia auction, highlights from Paul's second place Iditarod finish and more. For more information, call 262-5057.

Canine Good Citizen class offered

Peninsula Dog Obedience Group will offer a Canine Good Citizen course beginning Feb. 22 at 10 a.m. It is an eight-week class and designed to teach skills on passing the Canine Good Citizen test, which will be held on the last day of class.

The purpose of the test is to ensure that a dog can be a respected member of the community because it is trained and conditioned to act mannerly in the home, public places and in the presence of other dogs. The program is open to both purebred and mixed breeds. The test is not a competition and does not require you and your dog perform with precision.

Church plans Mardi Gras

Our Lady of the Angels Catholic church will host its annual Mardi Gras celebration Feb. 28 at 6 p.m. Festivities include live music, dancing, door prizes, a raffle and a cajun dinner. Tickets are available at the church, located on Spruce Street in Kenai. For more information, call 283-4555.
