CES seeking volunteers

Central Emergency Services is seeking applicants for its volunteer fire and EMS program. Community members living in the Sterling, Soldotna, Kalifornsky Beach Road, Funny River and Kasilof areas interested in serving the community and receiving benefits in return are asked to stop by the Soldotna station on Binkley Street to pick up an application and receive information on what CES has to offer its volunteer firefighters. NPRSA sets gym schedule

Open gym times at the Nikiski Community Recreation Center are available for the following groups: adults from 8 to 10 p.m. Mondays; toddler time from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays; home school from 1 to 3 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays; and family open gym from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays. PFLAG to meet

After prom party committee to meet

The Soldotna High School after-prom party committee will meet at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday in the commons of the school. All parents of juniors are encouraged to attend. For more information, call 262-9751 or 262-1468.

Fish and game to meet

The Kenai-Soldotna Fish and Game Advisory Committee will meet at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Kenai River Center. The topics will be game proposals for the area and Nelchina Tier II caribou issues. For more information, call Dwight Kramer at 283-1054.

Women voters meeting planned

The Central Peninsula League of Women Voters will meet at 4 p.m. Thursday. The topics will be finalizing the year's program and a book discussion. For more information and the location, call Marge at 262-3908.

Volunteers for wildlife education sought

The Alaska Department of Fish and Game and the Kenai National Wildlife Refuge are seeking qualified and interested volunteers to give classroom presentations about bears in the Kenai and Soldotna area.
