Rhonda and James Baisden of Kenai announce the birth of their son, Samuel James Baisden, at 3:18p.m. Monday, Feb. 1, 2005, at Central Peninsula General Hospital in Soldotna. He weighed 8 pounds, 15 ounces and measured 22 inches.

He joins brother, James Cullen II, 1. His grandparents are Margie and Carl Baisden Sr., and Bonnie and Don Vannatter, all of Verdunville, W.Va.

Laura and Mark Best of Soldotna announce the birth of their daughter, Lirissa LaVaun Best, at 5:10 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 23, 2005, at Frontier Midwifery Services in Soldotna. She weighed 10 pounds, 4.75 ounces and measured 23 inches.

She joins sibling, Haven Best, 4. Her grandparents are Jim and Sue Best of Soldotna, and Sandy Wibbens and Marvin Wahlgren, both of Bow, Wash.



Tara and Jamie T. Harris of Nikiski announce the birth of the daughter, Ashlyn Bailey Rose Harris, at 2:44 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 4, 2004, at Central Peninsula General Hospital in Soldotna.

She weighed 9 pounds, 0.5 ounces and measured 20 inches.

She joins brothers, Brendan Trey, Justin Hunter and Dylan Timothy.

Her grandparents are Timothy and Roberta O'Brien and Buddy and Joreen Harris, all of Nikiski. Her great-grandparents are Helen O'Brien of Nikiski, Nana Miller and Peggy Deets, both of Kasilof.



Melinda and Avery Pennington of Kenai announce the birth of their son, Jett Brady Pennington, at 4:30 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 22, 2004, at Frontier Midwifery Birth Center in Soldotna. He weighed 8 pounds, 14 ounces and measured 20.75 inches.

He joins brother, Tyler, 2. His grandparents are Bill and Debbie Read of Soldotna and Howard and Pauline Pennington of Big Lake. His great-grandparents are Jack and Jo Terrell of Sinton, Texas, and Gloria Pennington of Oxford, Ga.
