Mystery convention planned in February

More than 100 mystery authors will converge on Alaska Feb. 15-18, when Left Coast Crime takes place in Anchorage.

It's the first time that LCC, a national mystery convention, has ever taken place in Alaska. It's sponsored by the Alaska chapter of Sisters in Crime, a national group formed to promote literacy and appreciation of the mystery genre.

Participants will meet authors such as Michael Connelly, J.A. Jance, Anne Perry and Lindsey Davis. Mystery fans and those interested in writing mystery novels will be able to attend how-to workshops conducted by the visiting authors. In addition, 50 of those writers will travel throughout Alaska as part of the "Authors to the Bush" program.

For more information, call (907) 257-4328 or (907) 332-8748 or send e-mail to
