Stars victorious in First City Shootout

The Soldotna High School boys basketball team defeated Caledonia, British Columbia, 54-50 in the opening round of the First City Prep Shootout at Ketchikan High School Thursday.

Soldotna advances to face Craig today at 6:15 p.m.

The Stars had a two-point lead (25-23) at the half, but trailed by four points (37-33) at the start of the fourth quarter.

Nick Christensen scored 13 of his game-high 20 points in the final period, including three straight 3-pointers, and Pat Hardina was 4-for-4 from the foul line down the stretch to help the Stars secure the victory.
