Ultimate Frisbee begins at Skyview

Library offers Internet class

The Kenai Community Library will hold a beginning Internet class Monday at 6:30 p.m. The class will cover basic Internet skills and search techniques. For more information, call 283-4378.

Hospital board to meet

The Central Kenai Peninsula Hospital Service Area Board will meet Monday at 5:30 p.m. in the Iliamna room at Central Peninsula General Hospital. For more information, call 262-9892.

Seniors to discuss budget

The Nikiski Senior Service Area Board will meet Wednesday at 4:30 p.m. at the Nikiski Senior Citizens Center. The board will discuss the 2003-04 budget. For more information, call 776-7654.

Sled dog association to meet

The Peninsula Sled Dog Racing Association will hold its regular monthly meeting Thursday from 7 until 9 p.m. at the Kenai River Center. Anyone interested in learning more about dogs, skijoring and mushing is welcome. For more information, call Mindee at 283-3954 or Mitch at 262-4977.

Women's brunch planned

The Peninsula Take A Break will host "Call of the Wild," a women's brunch, Feb. 18 from 10 until 11:30 a.m. Musician Tina Schneider will perform live music and kayaker Kitty Romersberger will share how she navigated the turbulent waters of her life. FAS workshop planned

Deb Evenson will present a Fetal Alcohol Syndrome workshop Feb. 21 and 22 at the Edgewater Hotel in Seward. The workshop is geared toward educators, social service personnel and parents of children with FAS. Cost is $25. For more information or to register, call Vickie at 262-6331.

College to hold Mardi Gras

Kenai Peninsula College student union will host a Mardi Gras garage sale carnival in the KPC commons from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. Feb. 22. Tables can be rented for $15 at the KPC bookstore, and items can be donated to the KPC fund-raiser table. For more information, contact the student union at 262-0339.

Charter school to conduct enrollment lottery

The Montessori Charter School, a public school in the Kenai Peninsula Borough School District, will conduct an enrollment lottery March 29. Applications and copies of the enrollment and lottery procedures are available at the Montessori Charter School from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday.

All applications must be hand-delivered to the school by 4 p.m. March 14. The lottery results will be posted at the school April 7.

Orientations for anyone interested in learning more about the school will be held from 4 to 5 p.m. every Wednesday and Thursday from Feb. 19 through March 13. For more information, call 260-9221.

Safety course offered

The American Red Cross will offer a health and safety instructor's class Feb. 21, 22 and 23 at the Kenai Peninsula Borough building in Soldotna. The course will include first aid, adult, infant and child CPR and AED. Cost is $275. For more information or to register, call 283-4541.
