Community may not realize what an asset Heritage Place is

Here's another reason you are fortunate to live on the Kenai Peninsula:

After my experiences of the last year, I feel compelled to pass on my thanks publicly to Director Dennis Murray and the staff of Heritage Place. I recently lost my wife due to an extended illness. In July, I reached the point it was no longer safe to keep her at home and I was unable to keep up with the 24-hour-a-day care required. With help of local care coordinator Nancy Farrington, it was a relatively smooth transition to placing my wife in Heritage Place. I am extremely thankful for her assistance.

Now I will get to the point. I've worked in the telephone business for 35 years from San Diego, Arizona, Juneau, Anchorage, Kodiak and the Kenai. I have been in and around many nursing facilities during my career, and I can tell you that there is none better than our own, local Heritage Place.

Unless you need their services, which I hope you never do, you may never know how fortunate the citizens of this area are to have such a fine facility, staffed with such a kind, loving and dedicated group of people.

I write this to publicly thank them for being there when I needed them and doing what they do with such compassion.
