Reader: Clarion coverage lacking

Posted: Wednesday, February 09, 2005

As I read the Clarion each day, it amazes me how often local news is overlooked or just completely ignored. Events that took place during the Peninsula Winter Games went with little (T-200 race) or no coverage at all. Events like the Native Youth Olympic Competition, the ice carvings, dog weight pulling contest, the list goes on.

Perhaps it's time for folks who are tired of this lack of coverage to contact the Publisher and voice their concerns. It surely seems that the staff has become complacent on timely coverage of local events. Perhaps one of the "reader poll" questions should be "Does the Clarion fulfill the editorial needs of the community?" or maybe this one, "Does the Clarion need new direction?"
