A schoolwide Valentine's Day and Love of Reading celebration is planned Monday. Students can bring a favorite book, dress up as a book character or wear a shirt that has been decorated with a theme from a story.

Mrs. Larned's class is discussing black history in America. Students will make a presentation as part of the project. The students also will continue work on South America.

Mrs. Holt's classroom is discovering grammar rules in their reading and daily writing.

Mrs. Overturf's kindergartners have been going outside to look at the moon and stars in the evening. They keep journals of what they see. They take turns taking home the star bag which contains a reference star guide, moon phases, flash light and binoculars.

The staff thanks the students and their extended families for volunteer time. More than 1,200 hours of volunteer hours has been logged.
