Subsistence subcommittee to meet Feb. 24

The Southcentral Alaska Federal Subsistence Regional Advisory Council’s Kenai Peninsula subcommittee will meet on Feb. 24 at 9 a.m. at the Soldotna Sports Center.

The purpose of the meeting will be to provide recommendations on methods and means of harvest, harvest limits, and fishery seasons, based on current federal subsistence fishery proposals for federal public waters within the Kenai and Kasilof River drainages. These recommendations are to be submitted to the RAC prior to the council’s March 13-16 meeting in Anchorage.

The following areas within the park are now closed: Upper Huffman; Powerline Pass; Peters Creek; Ptarmigan Valley; Eklutna Lake State Recreation Area and Eagle River 7.4 Mile Access.
