Kids get lippy
Soldotna Community Schools’ annual Showin’ Off the Kids lip sync and choreography contest will be held Feb. 24 at Soldotna High School. The contest is for children in grades kindergarten through eighth.
Application forms may be picked up at Soldotna Dairy Queen, Kenai or Soldotna libraries, Soldotna Sports Center, most school offices or downloaded online at www.ci. soldotna.ak.us then click on Community Schools.
The application form and a two-minute taped selection must be returned to Dairy Queen by Feb. 19.

Peninsula women break for lunch
The Peninsula Take-A-Break will hold a Valentine luncheon from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Feb. 21 at the Solid Rock Conference Center, Mile 90.5 of the Sterling Highway. It is open to all women. Lunch is $10. Childcare will be provided.

Frontier community board meeting set
Frontier Community Services board of directors will meet from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Feb. 22 at Kenai River Center on Funny River Road in Soldotna. The topics will be elections of officers and director’s report on programs. Refreshments will be provided.

Dodge, wallyball tourneys planned
The Police Athletic League and the Boys and Girls Club will host a free dodgeball and wallyball tournament from noon to 3 p.m. Feb. 24 at the Kenai Recreation Center. Youth ages 10 to 18 are eligible. Pizza and beverages will be provided. For more information, call James Clark at 398-0432.
Seniors set to sing
The Sterling Senior Center will host a Western musical production “It’s Chili in Old Texas or She Loved Franks and Beans” at 6 p.m. Feb. 24 and at 2:30 p.m. Feb. 25 at the center. Chili and a no-host bar will be offered on Feb. 24.
Proceeds will benefit senior activities.

Snowmachine fundraiser set
The Way Out Women will hold its annual snowmachine ride March 3. Proceeds will benefit Central Peninsula Hospital’s cancer fund that assists local cancer patients.
The $100 entry fee will include a continental breakfast, “goody bag” and T-shirt.
