Hospital service area board to meet tonight

The Central Kenai Peninsula Hospital Service Area Board will meet at 5:30 p.m. today in the Iliamna room at Central Peninsula General Hospital. For more information, call 262-9892.

Business center to offer seminars

The Small Business Development Center will offer a seminar titled, "Low Tech Bookkeeping," from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the Red Diamond Center, Suite 16. Ruth St. Amour will speak. The cost is $15, and reservations are encouraged.

The center also will offer a workshop titled, "QWuick Marketing on a Shoe String," from 2 to 5 p.m. Tuesday at the Homer Chamber of Commerce. The workshop will share creative and inexpensive marketing techniques that work. The cost is $15, and one-day advance registration is encouraged.

Library to host Internet class

The Kenai Community Library will host a beginning Internet class at 6:30 p.m. today. The free class will cover basic Internet skills and searching techniques. For more information or to register, call Julie at 283-4378.

Era representatives to speak in Soldotna

Paul Landis and Charisse Millitt of Era Aviation will speak at the Soldotna Chamber of Commerce's weekly meeting at noon Tuesday at the Riverside House. For more information, call 262-9814.

Livestock forum offered

Milan Shipka, a animal scientist and livestock specialist with the University of Alaska Fairbanks Cooperative Extension Service will present a livestock nutrition forum at 6 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday at Homer High School in room 101 and at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Cook Inlet Aquaculture Building in Kenai. The forum will be informational for anyone raising livestock, such as sheep, cattle, hogs or horses. For more information, call the CES Kenai Peninsula District at 262-5824.

Kenai chamber plans Job Shadow meeting

The Kenai Chamber of Commerce will host a special luncheon meeting this week for its Job Shadow Day. The luncheon will be from noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Diamond Rose. Kenai Peninsula Borough School District Superintendent Donna Peterson will speak, as will area business persons, graduates and representatives from the Peninsula Job Center. The cost is $11. Kenai to present comprehensive plan draft

The city of Kenai's draft comprehensive plan will be presented at the planning and zoning commission meeting at 7 p.m. Wednesday in the council chambers at 210 Fidalgo Ave. in Kenai. AMVETS ladies to host dinner, raffle

The AMVETS Post No. 4 Ladies Auxiliary will host its third annual sweetheart dinner and raffle Friday at the post in the Red Diamond Center on Kalifornsky Beach Road. The prime rib dinner will be served from 6 to 8 p.m., and entertainment will follow. The cost is $12.50 per plate, and proceeds will help the auxiliary furnish the kitchen at the post's new location. Safety course offered

Boys and Girls Club to host talent show
