UAF extension to hold workshop
The University of Alaska Fairbanks Cooperative Extension Service will conduct a workshop on animal reproduction from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. today at the Cook Inlet Aquaculture Building on Kalifornsky Beach Road. Milan Shipka, a livestock specialist, will discuss animal reproduction, complications of importation and flying and barging of animals. For more information, call 262-5824.

Homer youth wrestling to begin
The Popeye Wrestling Club in Homer will begin practice Feb. 23 in the Homer High School wrestling room. Children ages 5 to 18 are eligible. Beginners are welcome. Registration is at the Community Schools office or at the first practice. There will be a parents' meeting at 7 p.m. today at Homer High School, room B106.
Basketball teams to hold fund-raiser
The Ninilchik High School basketball teams are selling raffle tickets to earn money. The drawings will be held Saturday. You do not need to be present to win. Prizes available are a seafood package, valentine's package, afghan blanket package and a mother-of-pearl globe valued at $350. Tickets are $2 each or three for $5. Aviation safety meeting slated
The FAA Safety Program, in conjunction with Alaskan Aviation Safety Foundation, will hold an aviation safety meeting from 7 to 9 p.m. Feb. 17 at the Kenai Visitors and Cultural Center. The featured speaker, Roger Motzko, will discuss runway safety, and Charlie Hamilton will discuss pilots in distress and recent accidents. The meeting is open to all CFIs, pilots and students. There is no fee.
