Nominations are now being accepted for three open seats on the Homer Electric Association Board of Directors.
The nine HEA board members are elected from three districts, three from each. Seats open this year include one from each district.
Ruth Fitzpatrick of Kenai currently holds a District 1 seat (Kenai-Nikiski area). She said Friday that she intends to seek another term.
Hugh Chumley, of Sterling is a representative from District 2 (Soldotna-Sterling area). He too said Friday that he was running again.
Also open this year is a District 3 seat (Ninilchik-Homer area) held by Mike Pate of Homer. He said Friday that he would be seeking re-election to the board.
All three incumbents have long histories with the board.
HEA members interested in being on the ballot must complete a nomination packet that requires gathering at least 15 signatures from valid association members living within the district the candidate would represent. The nomination forms are available at HEA offices in Kenai and Homer.
The deadline for submitting nomination packets is 5 p.m. Feb. 29. Packets may be dropped off at the Kenai or Homer HEA offices.
Ballots will be mailed out to HEA members on March 28 and the results will be tabulated at the annual meeting on May 1 at Soldotna High School.
