EAA975 meeting offered

An EAA975 -- Experimental Aircraft Association meeting will be held 7 p.m. today at Jim'sHanger in North Kenai.

Bee keepers meeting slated

The Peninsula Beekeepers will meet at 6 p.m. today at the Soldotna Middle School. The featured speaker will be Jim VanRaden. His topic will be updated information on colony collapse disorder.

Genealogical society meeting set

Kenai Totem Tracers Genealogical Society will meet at 6 p.m. Wednesday at the Kenai Community Library. The program will be on internet research of family trees.

College council meeting scheduled

The Kenai Peninsula College Council will meet at 6 p.m. Thursday in the MAPTS Building on campus.

Women voters to gather

The Central Peninsula League of Women Voters will meet at noon Friday at Christ Lutheran Church in Soldotna. A representative from the Kenai Peninsula Food Bank will be the featured speaker.

Local foods to be discussed

The Kenai Resilience will host a local foods discussion and potluck Friday, at the Donald E. Gilman Center (formerly Kenai River Center) to celebrate existing food projects, share information, and encourage community action around local food issues. A finger food potluck will be held from 6 to 6:30 p.m. Facilitated discussion will follow from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

Miners dig in

Alaska Miners Association Kenai branch will meet from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at the Kenai Peninsula College Mining and Petroleum Building. The featured speakers will be Cassady Harraden, field geologist and Mike Heatwole, public relations spokesman with the Pebble Limited Partnerships. A powerpoint presentation will be given and field core samples will be available to view.

Soldotna historians to meet

The Soldotna Historical Society will meet at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Kenai River Center on Funny River Road. Following a brief business meeting Borough Mayor Dave Carey will speak on the history of the Kenai Peninsula Borough.

Historical society to meet

The Kenai Historical Society will meet at 1:15 p.m. Sunday at the United Methodist Church of the New Covenant. The featured speaker will be Ferdinand Dominique, manager of the Kenai Wal-Mart.

FCS board members to meet

Frontier Community Services will hold its annual board of director's meeting from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. March 4 at the Challenger Learning Center of Alaska.

Election of officers will be held, agency director's will report on the status of individual programs and employees will be recognized for their years of service. Dinner will be provided courtesy of the FCS Day Habilitation and Vocational program.

Library fundraiser planned

The Friends of Kenai Community Library will sponsor a fundraiser for the library addition from 7 to 9 p.m. March 10 at the Kenai Visitors and Cultural Center.

A silent and outcry auction and other events will be held. Proceeds will go toward a matching grant from the Rasmuson Foundation.

Items, gift certificates are needed for the auctions and other events.
