Area students earn high marks

Casey L. Adamson of Kenai has been named to the dean's list for the fall semester at University of Alaska Fairbanks. To be named to the dean's list, students must achieve a grade point average between 3.5 and 3.99.

Jayson BeDunnah of Kenai has been named to the dean's list for the fall semester at the University of Idaho's College of Engineering. To be named to the dean's list, students must be full-time and achieve a grade point average of at least 3.3.

Jennifer Cabana of Homer has been named to the dean's list for the fall semester at the University of Idaho's College of Education. To be named to the dean's list, students must be full-time and achieve a grade point average of at least 3.3.

Saul B. Hollers of Kenai has been named to the dean's list for the fall semester at University of Alaska Fairbanks. To be named to the dean's list, students must achieve a grade point average between 3.5 and 3.99.

Micah L. Houtz of Kenai has been named to the chancellor's list for the fall semester at University of Alaska Fairbanks. To be named to the chancellor's list, students must achieve a 4.0 grade point average.

Mitchell W. Linebarger of Kenai has been named to the dean's list for the fall semester at University of Alaska Fairbanks. To be named to the dean's list, students must have a grade point average between 3.5 and 3.99.

Erin Nightingale of Nikiski has been named to the dean's list for the fall semester at the University of Idaho's College of Letters and Science. To be named to the dean's list, students must be full-time and achieve a grade point average of at least 3.3.

Amanda F. Reynoldson of Kenai has been named to the dean's list for the fall semester at University of Alaska Fairbanks. To be named to the dean's list, students must achieve a grade point average between 3.5 and 3.99.

Emily Rhyner of Kenai has been named to the dean's list for the fall semester at the University of Notre Dame in Indiana. Rhyner is the daughter of Tom and Mary Rhyner of Kenai and a 1998 graduate of Kenai Central High School. To be named to the dean's list, students must achieve a grade point average of at least 3.4.

Justin Michael Ruffridge of Kenai has been named to the dean's list for the fall semester at Pensacola Christian College in Florida. Ruffridge is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Michael H. Ruffridge of Kenai. To be named to the dean's list, students must achieve a B average or higher.

Laura M. Walters of Kenai has been named to the chancellor's list for the fall semester at University of Alaska Fairbanks. To be named to the chancellor's list, students must achieve a 4.0 grade point average.

Area teens nominated to military academies

Marion Glaser of Seward was nominated to the U.S. Air Force Academy by Sen. Ted Stevens. Glaser is the daughter of Michael and Katherine Glaser of Seward. She was one of 10 Alaska high school seniors nominated to the academy. Only one will be chosen to attend.

William Keller of Sterling was nominated to the U.S. Military Academy at West Point by Stevens. Keller is the son of William and Carol Keller of Sterling. He was one of six Alaska high school seniors nominated to West Point. Only one will be chosen to attend.

Soldotna resident graduates from training

U.S. Air Force Airman Mikhail Woltering of Soldotna graduated from basic training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio. Woltering studied the Air Force mission, organization and customs; performed drill and ceremony marches; and received physical training and special training in human relations.

He is the son of Michael Woltering of Soldotna and a 2001 graduate of Soldotna High School.
