Sterling community comes together to help neighbors during holidays

Posted: Wednesday, February 11, 2004

Thanksgiving and Christmas 2003 were made brighter for several families due to the combined efforts and generosity of the community of Sterling.

Donations of food and/or money came from Abundant Life Assembly of God Church, Sterling Baptist Church, Sterling Lutheran Church, Sterling Senior Center, Sterling Elementary School staff and students, Sterling Community Club, local Sterling merchants, Sterling TOPS, Alaska Trading and Loan, Gottschalks, Country Foods, VFW Ladies Auxiliary, Mat Valley Potato Growers and many individuals.

A special thank you to Pastor Bob Reasner and all the crew from Abundant Life Assembly of God Church for being so diligent in putting this program together. Thank you to everyone that helped in the assembling of the food and wrapping of gifts.

We can be proud of our community and everyone's efforts in making the holidays special for others.

Judy Warren and Kathi Overpeck, for "Share in the Giving", Sterling
