Parent-teacher conferences are scheduled for Friday and Monday. Parents are asked to confirm their conference appointments as soon as possible.

Mr. Chase will hold the "Jump Rope for Heart" fund-raiser Feb. 25 and 27. Students have raised a minimum of $1,000 annually for the American Heart Association. Participating students accumulate contributions by taking pledges for the number of minutes he or she can continuously jump during the assigned jumping period.

Love of Reading Week in scheduled for the final week of February. Guest readers, staff in costume and the annual book swap are a few things that may transpire on those days. Families are encouraged to begin boxing those old books that are no longer needed at home so that there is room for a box of new books from this year's event. Volunteers still are needed, particularly with the book swap. For more information or to volunteer, call Ms. VanDerWege.

Mr. Cowans, the forensics coordinator, has provided teachers in grades four through six with information for the competition. The school's competition will be March 2, with the district competition March 13.

Kindergarten preregistration week has passed, but area families still are welcome to stop by the school for registration materials. A child must be 5 years old by Aug. 15 and have a birth certificate and up-to-date immunizations in order to enroll.
