Grace Lutheran

Posted: Wednesday, February 11, 2004

Grace Lutheran's preschoolers have been busy learning how to find hidden pictures in a big picture, reviewing their numbers and alphabet, learning three-story sequencing, mixing white with colors to make them lighter and playing together.

The kindergartners are having three spelling words per day and reading a new little book each day. In social studies, they are studying George Washington. They also are looking forward to exchanging valentines at the party Friday.

Congratulations to fifth-grader Allan Wentzlaff for passing his three-minute timings in addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.

All the classes are enjoying their social studies and science classes. The fourth- through sixth-graders are studying Alaska geography. The first- through third-graders just finished studying the planets, asteroids, comets and stars. And the seventh- and eighth-graders are studying the physics of motion and recently experimented with eggs to determine the relative velocity at which things travel.

In Christlight, the children are studying the history of the Israelites.

It's not too early to check out Grace Lutheran for the 2004-05 school year. For more information, call Mr. Leckwee at 283-9551.
