The first- through sixth-graders have started their swimming lessons at the Nikiski pool three days a week.

Students went to Homer on Friday for an Association of Christian Schools International district spelling bee. Jeffrey Simons took first place for the first-graders; Kara Martin placed second for the third-graders; Coltyn Pribbenow was second among fifth-graders; Kailie Nelson was second in the eighth grade; and Jaron Pribbenow placed first among the eighth-graders. Kailie Nelson placed second overall and will go to the ACSI state spelling bee in March.

The third- through fifth-graders have been learning to write stories with Andrew Pudewa videos.
