February is here; it's the time for hearts and flowers.
That little extra daylight time adds more sunny hours.
Soon we'll be dancing to a sound of springtime showers.
Soon: A time when Tulips will reach above the ground,
and fill many a garden with beautiful colors all around,
and pitchers toss their curves from a diamond mound.
Valentine Day's approaching; a box of chocolate delight,
a rose, a piece of jewelry, words you took time to write,
soon given to the person you call mister or misses right.
Soon: A time so precious, you don't want it to ever end,
an everlasting moment to spend with a very best friend,
or a brilliant sunrise awaiting you just around the bend.
Our winter time is fading, faster than you might desire.
No more need to warm your bodies beside a toasty fire.
Soon snow sports and machines will regress, then retire.
Soon: A time coming too quickly often 'fore we know it.
At times we postpone our love or defer how we show it.
Maybe Valentine's Day, I'll find an extra mile and go it.
Happy February, Happy Valentine's Day, Happy 2010.
