Kenai's Hansen making a splash at Alma

Kenai's Morgan Hansen has been rewriting the record books at Alma College in Alma, Mich.

Hansen, a freshman diver for the Scots, broke the school's freshman record in the 1-meter and 3-meter diving events last weekend in a dual meet with Tri-State University.

Hansen scored 235.70 points on the 1-meter board and 250.80 points on the 3-meter board, both good for first-place finishes.

Hansen's point total in the 3-meter event qualifies her for the NCAA Division III national championships. Hansen needs to score 245 points on the 1-meter board at the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association conference meet Feb. 21 through 23 to qualify for the national championships in that event.

Christensen also has 30 assists to his credit at Cornell.

The Rams are 11-12 overall and 9-7 in Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference competition.
