Raymond E. 'Ray' Petersen

Soldotna resident Raymond E. "Ray" Petersen died Friday, Feb. 5, 2010 at Central Peninsula Hospital in Soldotna. He was 85.

Memorial services will be 6:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 15, at Soldotna Baptist Church, 223 E. Redoubt Ave. in Soldotna. Mr. Petersen will be buried 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 16, at Fort Richardson National Cemetery near Anchorage. Pastor Timothy Tiffner will officiate.

Mr. Petersen was born Aug. 27, 1924 in Omaha, Neb. He has lived in Alaska for the past 15 years.

He is survived by his sons, Ray E. Petersen of Lake Elsinore, Calif., Alan K. Petersen of Soldotna, Rodney G. Petersen of Council Bluff, Iowa, Jay Petersen of Perris, Calif., Rand D. Petersen of Front Royal, Va., and Adam Ray Petersen of Roanoake, Va.; daughters, Regene Rygol of Chantilly, Va., Dianne Trout of Kansas City, Kan., and Rayna Graciano of Stanaway, Wash.; sisters, Mary Helen Ehresman of Omaha, Virginia Shriver of Denver, Colo, Beverly Sidebottom of Cope, Colo., and Marilyn Anderson of Omaha.

Arrangements are with Peninsula Memorial Chapel.
