Adult volleyball registration open

The North Peninsula Recreation Service Area Co-Ed Adult Volleyball League registration begins today and the season starts March 22. League night will be held on Mondays at the Nikiski Community Recreation Center. Cost is $35 per participant. The deadline for registration is March 12.

St. Baldrick's event upcoming

The fourth annual St. Baldrick's event to raise money for childhood cancer research is March 20 at 6 p.m. at the Soldotna Sports Center. We are putting on a fun and inspirational evening to support and honor those touched by childhood cancer and to raise much-needed funds for better treatments and cures. Volunteers are needed to be Heroes for kids and have their heads shaved in exchange for donations.

Raffle items are needed as well.

Senior Olympics slated

The seventh annual Senior Olympic games will be held Tuesday through Feb. 20. There will be 15 events planned and winners will receive gold, silver or bronze medals.

A no-host dinner will be held at Ginger's Restaurant after the awards ceremony. Participants must be at least 55 years old to participate.

Adoptive families to gather

A potluck for adoptive families and their children will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday at Christ Lutheran Church in Soldotna.

Cribbage tourney set

The Cook Inlet Lions cribbage tournament continues Saturdays at 3 p.m. at the American Legion Post 20 on Cook Street in Kenai. The public is invited to participate. For more information, call Raymond at 776-5688 or Bob at 776-5339.

Public health plans 1-day closure

Kenai Public Health Center will be closed Monday in observance of President's Day. It will reopen Tuesday at 8 a.m. Call 335-3400 for more information.

Little League clinics continue

Kenai Little League will host indoor clinics at Kenai Middle School on Mondays from 6 to 9 p.m. The clinic is for youth ages 9 years old and up. Clinic will meet through March except when school is not in session or canceled.
