ANCHORAGE (AP) -- More than 200 people and several aircraft from Elmendorf Air Force Base will be participating in a multi-national military exercise in Thailand starting next week.
Exercise Cope Tiger begins Feb. 17 at the Royal Thai Air Force Base in Korat and runs through Feb. 28.
Elmendorf has sent about 10 F-15C Eagles and pilots from the 12th Fighter Squadron and an E-3 Sentry and crew from the 962nd Airborne Air Control Squadron. Also sent were maintenance workers, security forces and support personnel.
The crews from the 12th Fighter Squadron left Feb. 8 while the E-3 Sentry and crew left Feb. 12.
Elmendorf officials said Cope Tiger is a regularly scheduled exercise conducted in the Asia-Pacific region and is not related to any world events. The exercise concludes Feb. 28.
