SoHi girls lose at Barrow Tournament

Barrow defeated Soldotna 58-27 Thursday in the first round of the Barrow Tournament.

Peggy Pili had 20 points for the Whalers, while Maria Eduarte added 14 points. Kaylee Wilbanks paced Soldotna with 10 points.

Homer boys, girls split at Valdez Elks Tournament

The Homer boys defeated Cordova 46-36 Thursday in the first round of the Valdez Elks Tournament, while the Homer girls lost a 42-41 decision to the host Buccaneers Thursday.

Nikolaevsk sweeps Fort Yukon

The Nikolaevsk basketball teams swept Fort Yukon Thursday in the opening round of the Nenana Invitational Tournament. The girls picked up a 46-37 victory, while the boys won 66-40.
