Area students make dean’s list

· Former Soldotna resident Jessie Marie Perkovich was named to the dean’s list at Bay Path College. To be named to the list students must attain a grade point average of 3.5. Perkovich is enrolled in the occupational therapy program.

She is the daughter of Tabitha and John Perkovich.

· Former Soldotna resident Noah C. King was named to the dean’s list at Northern Michigan University, To be named to the list students must have a grade point average of 3.25 or higher.

· Karli K. Knudsen was named to the dean’s list at the University of North Florida, To be named to the list students must be enrolled in at lest nine semester hours of course credit and have a grade point average of at least 3.5.

· Former Soldotna resident Keaton S. Andrus was named to the dean’s list at the University of Indianapolis. To be named to the list students must have completed a minimum of 12 semester hours and have a grade point average of at least 3.4.

He is the son of Michael and Marquitta Andrus.

Baldwin graduates

Former Kenai resident Charles Baldwin graduated from Abilene Christian College with a bachelor of science degree in physics.

Carpenter graduates

Former Soldotna resident Melinda R. Carpente graduated with a bachelor of science degree in civil engineering from the University of Wyoming.

Hansen joins Army

Former Soldotna resident Army Pvt. Katieanne Hansen has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C.

During the nine weeks of training she studied the Army mission, history, tradition and core values and physical fitness, and received instruction and practice in basic combat skills, military weapons, chemical warfare and bayonet training. She also practiced drill and ceremony, marching, rifle marksmanship, armed and unarmed combat, map reading, field tactics, military courtesy, military justice system, basic first aid, foot marches and field training exercises.

She is the daughter of Delbert Hansen Jr. of Byron, Calif., and Sheryll Hansen of Sterling.

Hansen is a 2004 graduate of Skyview High School.
