Skyview after-grad meeting slated

The Skyview High School senior parents meeting for the after graduation party will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday in the commons. Parents of juniors also may attend. Volunteers are needed in order to host the event. For more information, call Sherry at 262-1690.

Bypass support group available

The Gastric Bypass Support Group will meet at 6:30 p.m. Feb. 23 at Central Peninsula Hospital in the Iliamna Room. The meeting is for both pre- and post-operative patients.

Iditarod team fundraiser set to howl

A dinner buffet and outcry and bucket auctions will be held at 4:30 p.m. Feb. 25 at The Crossing in Soldotna to benefit Iditarod musher Paul Gebhardt and the Kenai Peninsula Food Bank. Alaska’s balladeer, Hobo Jim will give a guest performance. The price of admission is $45 per person. For ticket information, call The Crossing at 262-1906.

Donations are being sought for the outcry and bucket auctions.

Public health plans one-day closure

The Kenai Public Health Center will be closed Monday. It will reopen at 8 p.m. Tuesday.

Book club activity set

Kenai Library Book Club will meet at 6:30 p.m. Feb. 27 at the library. The topic will be getting ready for the science fiction workshop with Dana Stabenow. Relay for Life kick-off set

The American Cancer Society 2007 Relay For Life kick-off meeting will be held at 5:30 p.m. Monday in the Redoubt Room at Central Peninsula Hospital in Soldotna.

Genealogical society to meet

Totem Tracers Genealogical Society will meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Kenai Community Library. The general meeting will be from 6:30 to 8 p.m. The topic will be obituaries and how they can be helpful in research. It is open to the public. For more information, e-mail
