FAIRBANKS (AP) -- A grand jury has indicted Timothy Chad Lobdell on a charge of attempted murder in an incident involving an Alaska State Trooper last December.
Lobdell, 24, was wounded in the abdomen after troopers say he exchanged fire with Trooper Michael Wery.
Lobdell fled into the woods, but was found a short time later. He was hypthermic in temperatures of 35 below zero. Wery was not hit by the shotgun fired by Lobdell, according to troopers.
The incident occurred just after 4 a.m. after Lobdell got stuck in a driveway in a car that had been reported stolen. A resident called troopers after Lobdell apparently knocked on her door.
The grand jury also indicted Lobdell on a burglary charge.
