KPHA Squirt B drops two in Anchorage

The Kenai Peninsula Hockey Association Squirt B team lost a pair of games in Anchorage last weekend.

First, KPHA lost to Anchorage South Central Squirt A 5-4. Goals came from Zack Sonnichsen assisted by Brandon Fisher, Matt Boulette assisted by Sean Endsley and Sonnichsen, Boulette assisted by Endsley and Endsley assisted by Boulette. Goalie William Granger had 21 saves in the loss.

Second, KPHA lost to Anchorage Allstar Squirt B 3-1. The goal came from Josh Kerkvliet, assisted by Endsley and Sonnichsen. Granger had 20 saves in the loss.

Information meeting to be held on tax plan

Those wanting more information on Resolution 2003-130, which will allow for a mail-in election to approve a tax plan to fund school district cocurricular activities, can go to a meeting at 6 p.m. Monday at the library of Kenai Central High School. Joe Arness, a former president of the school board, will be available to answer questions.

Twins to hold informational meeting

There will be an informational meeting today at 2 p.m. for those wanting to play baseball for the Twins this summer. The meeting will be held on the top floor of the Kenai American Legion Hall, which is located at 901 Cook St., or across from the Oilers building.

There will be two teams varsity and junior varsity available for players born from Jan. 1, 1985, through 1989.
