Port Alsworth residents Samantha (Sami) Anne, Jesse Lynn and Katherine "Kadee" Jo Marie Davis died Wednesday, Feb. 9, 2005, in a plane crash in Lake Clark. They were 9, 7 and 5, respectively. Memorial services were held.

Sami was born Oct. 11, 1995, in Anchorage. She was the oldest of six children.

"Sami was energetic, enthusiastic and very responsible. She had a gift for turning every situation into a happy one and was a cheerful helper to her parents and younger siblings. She also enjoyed orchestrating the play and activities of her cousins and siblings and was looked up to and adored by all of them," her family said.

Jesse was born April 8, 1997, in Anchorage.

"She was fun-loving, compassionate and tenderhearted. She had a happy and contented spirit and found joy in loving and spending time with her friends and family members. She was very creative in activities and adventures. She could steal your heart with a single bat of her long lashes," her family said.

Kadee was born June 1, 1999, in Soldotna.

"She was sweet and cuddly and had an independent spirit. She loved dress up and playing with her dolls. She enjoyed being read to and thrived on individual time with her loved ones. She was the spice girl of the family and always had her own agenda. She was delighted to be chosen as the flower girl in her Uncle Joe and Aunt Mindy's wedding," her family said.

The family also said the girls loved camping at White Sands Beach, jumping off the dock at Tanalian Bible Camp, hiking to Tanalian Falls, picking blueberries with the family, having campfires at Dry Creek, driving their Honda three-wheeler, shopping with their Nana in town, getting treats at the "cache," playing with their brothers, cousins and friends, teaching their cousins how to be "Bush girls," having tea parties and going on individual dates with their mom and dad.

"All of the girls had received Jesus as their savior and seemed to have been given an extra measure of faith. They prayed almost daily for the salvation of their loved ones. They prayed with childlike faith and were never surprised at God's answers to their prayers. Their faith was inspirational to their whole family," the family said.

Samantha, Jesse and Kadee are survived by their parents, Jeremy and Michelle (Wilder) Davis; brothers Taylor, Callen and Jackson Davis; grandparents, Dave and Jacque Wilder and John and Mary Jo Davis; great-grandparents, Jesse and Rosella Wilder, Jack and Lynn Vantrease, Katherine Jo Davis and Evelyn Nordstrom; uncles and aunts, Dan and Laura Combes, Lyle Wilder, Jason Davis, Leon and Krissi Alsworth, Nate and Sherri Davis, Rob and Jenny Smithwick, Joe and Mindy Davis, Brian and Melissa Hutchins, Lindsay Hutchins and Jake and Darla Vanderwall; cousins, Kai Combes, Trapper, Tana and Kalee Alsworth, Katrina, Caleb, BethAnne and Jodi Davis, Amie, Robbie, Riley, Timmy and Johnny Smithwick and Karl, Keith, Kalee and Kaden Vanderwall.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Tanalian Bible Camp, general delivery, Port Alsworth, AK, 99653, where the girls enjoyed going each each.
