AmVets to meet

Financial workshop slated

A financial fitness first workshop series will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. today, March 1, 8, 15, 22 and 29 at the Abundant Life Church in Sterling. For more information call 262-9811.

After-graduation committee to meet

The Skyview High School senior after-graduation party committee will meet at 6:30 p.m. today in the commons. Topics will be theme selection, party preparations, volunteer scheduling and activity planning. Parents of seniors are encouraged to attend. Memorial, yurts to be discussed

The Southern Peninsula State Parks Citizens Advisory Board will meet from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the Anchor Point Senior Citizens Center. Topics will be to review a proposal to develop a memorial to highway travelers, an Anchor River State Recreation Area, review a proposal to develop rental yurts within state park campgrounds and an update on the contract operations of Anchor Point state campgrounds. Coalition meeting scheduled

The Alaska Fishermen's Coalition will meet at 7 p.m. today at the Cook Inlet Aquaculture Building to discuss membership and possible grants. For more information, call 567-3334

SoHi after-prom meeting set

Dance concert set

The Nikiski High School will hold its annual dance concert at 7 p.m. March 4 and 5 at the Nikiski High School Auditorium and at 7 p.m. March 11 and 12 at the Renee C. Henderson Auditorium at Kenai Central High School. Tickets will be available at the door.

Youth seeking funds for hungry

Nikiski youth Bible study group Crosseyed is seeking donations for its 30-hour famine fund-raiser Feb. 25-26. The group will go without food for 30 hours to highlight the plight of less advantaged children. All proceeds will go to World Vision, a Christian relief and development organization dedicated to helping children and their communities worldwide.
