PALMER (AP) -- A prisoner at the Palmer Correctional Center was recaptured Thursday afternoon a couple hours after he walked away from a minimum-security area of the facility.

Paul Kvasnikoff, 55, was spotted about 2:45 p.m. by troopers using a device that detects body heat. He'd been missing since about noon.

Troopers said he was trying to hide under a tree and had pulled some branches over himself. The infrared detector spotted his body heat.

Kvasnikoff was in the prison for sexual assault.

He now faces a charge of trying to escape.
