CIRCAC to meet

The Cook Inlet Regional Citizens Advisory Council PROPS committee will meet at 10 a.m. today at its office at 910 Highland Ave. in Kenai. It is open to the public. For more information or a copy of the agenda, call (800) 652-7222 or 283-7222.

Safety day committee to meet

The Soldotna Safety Day committee will meet at 5:30 p.m. today. If you are interested in being a presenter, performer or planner, call Nancy Mitchell at 262-4440.

Disabled veterans meeting slated

Chapter 5 of the American Disable Veterans will meet at 6 p.m. today at the American Legion bingo hall. It is open to all veterans. For more information, call Glenn Schrader at 283-4359.

Pot roast dinner fundraiser set

The Ladies Auxiliary of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Jerry V. Horn Memorial Post No. 10046 will host a Yankee pot roast dinner at 6 p.m. Saturday at the post on 134 Birch St. in Soldotna. Members of the post, ladies auxiliary members and their guests may attend. The cost is $10 per person.

Community dance planned

The Kenai River Folk Dancers will host a smoke- and alcohol-free community contra dance from 7 to 10 p.m. Saturday at Kalifornsky Beach Elementary School. Live music will be provided by the Contra BanD. Beginners should come early, since the easiest dances start at 7 p.m.

Participants should bring clean, nonmarking shoes and potluck snacks to share. Partners are not required.

Admission is $5. Children under 16 can get in for free if accompanied by an adult. For more information, call Theresa Holland at 260-4171.

Solar classes set to shine

The Cooperative Extension Service-Kenai Peninsula District will hold an introduction to solar energy for Alaskans course from 1 to 5 p.m.

March 3 at the Kenai Peninsula College. The cost is $10, for a solar design manual. To register or for more information, call 262-5824.
