Chambers set schedules

* The Soldotna Chamber of Commerce meets Tuesday at noon at Froso's. Student of the week and Chamber Business Week presentations are planned. For more information, call 262-9814.

Kenai Chamber hosts Job Shadow Day

Kenai Central High School and the Kenai Chamber of Commerce are proud to host the 17th Annual Job Shadow Day. This year we are matching 125 juniors from Kenai Central with area businesses for a half-day job shadow experience within a profession of their choice and interest. We are currently seeking businesses to host a student or students on March 1. Volunteers are also needed to help place students in businesses and to provide transportation for students on Job Shadow Day. Please call 283-7989 for more information.

Sport, Rec and Trade show gearing up

The Kenai Peninsula Association of Realtors has purchased the Kenai Peninsula Sport, Rec and Trade Show from Peninsula Marketing. The Kenai Peninsula Association of Realtors along with sponsors The KSRM Radio Group and The Peninsula Clarion invite you to mark the 26th Annual Kenai Peninsula Sport, Rec and Trade Show on your calendars: Friday, May 6 through Sunday, May 8. Learn to keep tax records

Alaska Small Business Development Center wants you to be efficient in tracking your records for tax purposes. On Tuesday, March 15, from 5 to 8 p.m., Beth Meier will provide tips on keeping good records, employee information, etc, to meet tax requirements and to stay organized for timely tax reporting. Learn how to write grants

Loretta Spalding will share the basics to successfully launch grant writing skills. This 3-hour class is at the Alaska Small Business Development Center, Suite 12, Red Diamond Center, Thursday, March 3, from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. Cost is $50, maximum of eight in the class, so register online by Feb. 21 to be guaranteed a computer. Profit mastery seminar coming

Alaska Small Business Development Center Southwest regional director Bryan Zak will present a 2-day, $395 Profit Mastery Seminar March 2 and 3, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Register online for this 16-hour hands-on course that will help you set goals for the future of your business, control spending and pricing and leave with a process to assess the performance of your business and a strategy to implement change. In addition to the program content, you will master the material through quizzes, lively discussion, guided practice and real-life application to your own business. Learn to build a business plan

You can learn methods to establish budgets, monetary amounts or percentages and how to evaluate your successes and failures. Attend the Alaska Small Business Development Center seminar on Tuesday, Feb. 22 from 2 to 5 p.m. in Suite 12 at the Red Diamond Center on K-Beach Road. The fee is $35. The Kenai Peninsula Builders Association hosts its 9th Annual Builders Jeopardy, presented by Wisdom & Associates, Thursday, Feb. 17, 7 p.m., at Paradisos.
