Kasilof resident Patricia Ann Northup died peacefully, Saturday, Feb. 12, 2011, at home after a 4-year battle with mesothelioma. She was 54.
Her ashes will be scattered in the Kenai River at a later date.
Ms. Northup was born Dec. 26, 1956, in Portland, Ore. She lived in Oregon, Washington, Idaho and Florida before moving to Alaska in March, 2000.
She had a small business in the Peninsula Center Mall in Soldotna named Pat's Cache Gifts and Collectibles from 2006-09. She also showed her products at various bazaars and craft fairs around the Peninsula.
Ms. Northup loved to fish on the Kenai River every chance she could get.
"She was a beloved spouse, daughter, mother and sister and will be dearly missed." Her family said.
Pat was preceded in death by her mother Ruby Wilson of, Spanaway, Wash.; and brothers, Dale Northup, of Las Vegas, Nev., and David Northup of Fla.
She is survived by her companion of 10 years, David Bloom, of Kasilof; father and stepmother, Richard "Dick" and Verna Northup of, Sandy, Ore.; children, Glenn Slaght and wife, Bethnay, of Marion, Ohio; Katrina Jewell, of Homedale, Idaho; and Ruby Jewell, of Clarkston, Wash.; grandsons, Brandon and Levi McGhee, and Jesse Jewell; granddaughter, Hailey Jewell; brother, James Northup, of Tupelo, Miss.; and sisters, Katherine Northup, of Centralia, Wash.; and Penny Harter of Lakewood, Wash.
Arrangements were made by Peninsula Memorial Chapel in Kenai.
