The Colony Knights skated to their best finish at the state tournament, defeating Lathrop 5-1 for fourth place.

Jake Luthi set up Colony's first goal of the game, carrying the puck up the right wing and feathering a pass across to the middle to Seth Reda, who beat Lathrop goalie Togi Letuligasenoa to the upper left corner.

Lathrop answered with a minnute left in the period. Letuligasenoa stopped a Colony shot and was able to knock the puck forward for Tommy Paskvan. The Malemutes quickly broke out of their zone, and Paskvan found Charlie Trump with the puck to finish off the rush.

Joey Guild potted the go-ahead goal for the Knights at 8:56 of the second period.

Letuligasenoa left his crease to poke away a loose puck out in front of his net with a Colony skater bearing down. The Lathrop goalie couldn't poke it far enough away, though, and while he stopped the initial shot, he could not recover in time to get to Guild's shot. Chris Crosta assisted on the play.

Adam Senta added a power play goal at 5:47 of the third period, beating Letuligasenoa with a one-time shot on a puck played out of the corner. Guild and Reda assisted on the play.

Senta made it 4-1 at 10:38 of the third period, deflecting a centering pass from Crosta towrd the net. The puck slipped through the five-hole on Letuligasenoa as he moved across the crease.

Matt Piatt netted the final goal of the game, slipping the puck past Letuligasenoa with 2:31 remaining in the contest. Tommy Lehe and Reda assisted on the goal.
