Short track speed skater Apolo Ohno missed his scheduled Sunday practice session after sustaining a 1 1/2-inch cut from his fall at the end of Saturday's 1,000 meter event.
Ohno, who had hoped to be back on the ice Sunday, received six stiches to close the wound. He is expected to return to practice today and compete in the 1,500 meter event Wednesday.
"The wound is healing and there is only a moderate amount of pain,'' reported USOC team physician Dan Carr. "The muscle tissue was bruised, not torn.''
