Kenai man's son graduates from Air Force basic training
Air Force Airman Justin F. Cramer of Plateau Valley, Colo., graduated from basic training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas. Cramer studied the Air Force mission, organization and customers; performed drill and ceremony marches; and received physical training and special training in human relations. He is the son of Timothy Cramer of Kenai.
Students make dean's lists
Jarod Urban of Soldotna has been named to the dean's list for the fall semester at St. Cloud State University in Minnesota. To be named to the dean's list, students must achieve a grade point average of at least 3.75.
KT Peters of Kenai was named to the dean's list for the fall semester at the University of Nebraska College of Business Administration. To be named to the dean's list, students must be full-time and achieve a grade point average of at least 3.6.
Soldotna student nominated to West Point
William J. Keller II of Soldotna was nominated to the U.S. Military Academy at West Point by Rep. Don Young. Keller is the son of William and Carol Keller of Soldotna. He was one of nine Alaska students nominated to the academy by the representative. Appointments will be announced this spring.
Kenai Historical Society elects officers
Retired librarian Emily DeForest of Kenai has been elected Kenai Historical Society president. Other officers chosen include: Elsie Seaman, vice president; Nancy Egbert, secretary-treasurer; and Virginia Poore, George Ford and Judy Coltrin, directors.
Buck Steiner, former manager of the Phillips LNG plant, will speak at the next Kenai Historical Society meeting, scheduled for 1 p.m. March 3 at the Kenai Community Library.
KCHS announces Student of the Month
Wally Ward of Kenai has been named January Kenai Central High School Student of the Month.
