OTTAWA -- Ottawa captain Daniel Alfredsson assisted on goals by Radek Bonk, Mike Fisher and Martin Havlat as the Senators beat New York 3-2 on Monday night to spoil Pavel Bure's return to the Rangers' lineup.
Ottawa, which scored on both of its power-play opportunities, improved to 5-1-1 in its last seven games.
With New York trailing 3-1, Bure assisted on Alexei Kovalev's 30th goal -- a power-play score -- with 12:32 left in the third.
Lightning 3, Capitals 1
TAMPA, Fla. -- Dan Boyle and Fredrik Modin scored early third-period goals as Tampa Bay beat Washington.
Vaclav Prospal added a goal with 1:25 left for Tampa Bay, which moved within four points of the Southeast Division-leading Capitals.
Ben Clymer and Washington goalie Olaf Kolzig collided right before Prospal's goal. Kolzig needed some assistance as he skated off the ice with 85 seconds remaining.
Blues 5, Flames 3
ST. LOUIS -- Keith Tkachuk and Pavol Demitra each had two goals and an assist, helping St. Louis rally from a two-goal deficit to beat Calgary.
The Blues won with backup goalie Fred Brathwaite, making his first start since Jan. 21. Brathwaite allowed three goals on the Flames' first 11 shots in the first period.
Tyson Nash beat Roman Turek for the go-ahead goal at 11:30 of the second period for the Central Division-leading Blues.
Thrashers 4, Sabres 3, OT
ATLANTA -- Patrik Stefan scored his first career overtime goal with two seconds left on the power play as Atlanta ended a four-game winless streak.
The goal came 3:54 into the extra session and gave Buffalo its sixth loss in seven games.
Atlanta, which was 0-for-5 on the power play and 1-for-18 in the last four games, scored its last three goals with a man advantage. Vyacheslav Kozlov, Dany Heatley, and Dan Snyder also had Thrashers goals.
Predators 5, Bruins 1
NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Rem Murray scored two unassisted goals to lead Nashville over Boston.
Greg Johnson, Andy Delmore and Adam Hall also scored for the Predators against Jeff Hackett, who faced 24 shots before being replaced by Steve Shields at 11:21 of the second period.
Avalanche 5, Blackhawks 4
CHICAGO -- Radim Vrbata had a goal and two assists, and Alex Tanguay added a goal and an assist as Colorado beat Chicago.
Steve Reinprecht, Milan Hejduk and Serge Aubin also scored for Colorado, 10-0-2-1 since losing in regulation to Detroit on Jan. 16.
Kings 3, Sharks 2
LOS ANGELES -- Alexander Frolov scored with 6:19 left to lift the Kings to their sixth victory in eight games.
Evgeni Nabokov stopped Ziggy Palffy on a penalty shot early in the third period, but less than three minutes later Palffy gave Los Angeles a 2-1 lead.
San Jose rookie Niko Dimitrakos tied it with his first NHL goal. He also assisted on Marco Sturm's goal. The Sharks finished 1-6 on a seven-game road trip.
Islanders 2, Mighty Ducks 2
ANAHEIM, Calif. -- Alexei Yashin scored the tying goal with 7:14 remaining, and Adrian Aucoin also scored as the New York Islanders tied Anaheim.
Paul Kariya and Petr Sykora scored for Anaheim. Adam Oates helped set up both goals to overtake Gordie Howe for sixth place on the career assist list.
It was only the 14th goal for Yashin, who led the Islanders last season with 32 and had 84 the previous two seasons for Ottawa.
