Congratulations to all the students who participated in the talent show last week. The first-place winner was Cassie Harris. Second place went to Kris Larson, and Molly Watkins took third.

The cross-country skiers had an excellent meet at Soldotna Middle School last week. At the sixth-grade level, Anders Nyquist placed first; Maya Johnson, second; Brady Perkins, third; and Dylan Wannamaker, fourth. For seventh-grade girls, Catherine Hoisington was sixth. In the eighth-grade girls division, Jamie Dunn placed fourth and Ashley Loveland was sixth. For eighth-grade boys, first place went to Trent Semmens; Kris Larson was fifth; and Daniel Gustkey was sixth.

The schoolwide spelling bee was last Thursday. The winner of that competition is Kyla Steward. Dakota DeVolld is the alternate. Kyla will represent KMS at the state competition in Anchorage.

Dates to remember:

Friday Volleyball at 3:30 p.m. in Seward.

Saturday Volleyball at 10 a.m. at KMS; wrestling at 9 a.m. at Soldotna Middle; cross-country skiing at noon in Homer.

Tuesday Student of the Month luncheon.

Feb. 25 Spring pictures.

Feb. 26 Site council meeting at 5:30 in the library; volleyball at 3 p.m. at KMS.

Feb. 27 Activity night at KMS; volleyball at 4 p.m. at KMS.

Feb. 28 Volleyball at 10 a.m. at KMS; wrestling boroughs at Soldotna Middle; cross-country skiing at noon at Skyview High School.
