Barrand finishes 16th in Yukon Quest

Cindy Barrand of Kasilof finished the 1,000-mile Yukon Quest International Sled Dog Race in 16th place, crossing the Whitehorse, Yukon, finish line at 11:21 p.m. Wednesday night.
Sam Deltour, of Belgium, who is running a team of dogs out of Mitch Seavey's kennel, finished in 11th place, arriving in Whitehorse at 2:03 p.m. Wednesday. Dries Jacobs, also of Belgium, ran a team of dogs from Dallas Seavey's kennel and finished in 12th place, 2 hours, 50 minutes behind Deltour.
Hans Gatt won the race in record time, crossing the finish at 1:35 p.m. Monday afternoon.
The race started on Feb. 6 in Fairbanks.
